Good afternoon everyone. Another post going up later than planned. I meant to have a video going up as well, but it’s not transferring to my iPad and I don’t have the time to edit it right now, unfortunately. I got behind, which is fine.
I meant for this to go up yesterday but WordPress was being strange on my iPad so I just stopped trying and hung out with my boy.
But I’m definitely going to share my haul with you all! I have some exciting books to talk about.
So let’s get into it.
The Shadows Between Us
“They’ve never found the body of the first and only boy who broke my heart. And they never will.” Alessandra is tired of being overlooked, but she has a plan to gain power: 1) Woo the Shadow King. 2) Marry him. 3) Kill him and take his kingdom for herself. No one knows the extent of the freshly crowned Shadow King’s power. Some say he can command the shadows that swirl around him to do his bidding. Others say they speak to him, whispering the thoughts of his enemies. Regardless, Alessandra knows what she deserves, and she’s going to do everything within her power to get it. But Alessandra’s not the only one trying to kill the king. As attempts on his life are made, she finds herself trying to keep him alive long enough for him to make her his queen―all while struggling not to lose her heart. After all, who better for a Shadow King than a cunning, villainous queen?
Someone should have warned me about falling in love with my best friend.
Little did I know when Rex came to my locker attempting to bribe me, that he’d turn into my everything. We’d become best friends. I’d steal his heart. He’d steal mine. Nothing has changed in the years of our friendship. Not our connection, not our feelings, or that we still hold each other’s hearts. But his heart isn’t the only thing I’ve kept. The secret I’m hiding could shatter the only man I’ve ever loved.
I’ve loved Carolina since the day she called my bluff. Our friendship always came first. She believed in me when no one else did. I tucked away my feelings because I couldn’t survive a life without her. We crossed the line once, and I swore it’d never happen again. As time passes, the harder it becomes to live up to that promise. Until finally, there’s no holding back.
The Demigod Complex
When Lyleia Naiad was head-hunted by Brimstone, Inc., for her job as Executive Assistant to a high-powered billionaire demigod, she was given one directive—do NOT fall in love with Castor Dioskouri. Doesn’t matter if he’s the son of Zeus and can electrify a room with a single glance. As an ex-nymph, she possesses a unique ability—a gift from the goddesses to protect nymphs from the randy gods—to resist her boss’s charms. Or so she thought. He insists she accompany him to an alpha wolf shifter mating ceremony, an event where the pheromones fly, and so do clothes…and inhibitions. Goddesses save her, because Castor has stolen into Lyleia’s heart, and she’s not so sure she can hold out much longer…
The Best Man Problem
Lilly Walsh is used to keeping things buttoned-up and aboveboard. After all, the last time she hooked up with someone in a wedding party, it nearly cost her her wedding planning business. Thankfully, those rules don’t apply when she meets a handsome stranger in a hotel bar. One bad pirate joke leads to the best night of her life, but come morning, she’s got a wedding to plan. Lincoln Reid never imagined he’d see the woman who rocked his world last night and then ran out on him ever again. But there she is, planning his best friend’s wedding with the same passion and drive that brought him to his knees. She’s adamant that wedding planner and best man can never mix, but that just means he’s got four weeks to make her see him as more than just a one-night guy. Because he’s itching for more than one night…or five, or ten…
Meet Pepper, swim team captain, chronic overachiever, and all-around perfectionist. Her family may be falling apart, but their massive fast-food chain is booming ― mainly thanks to Pepper, who is barely managing to juggle real life while secretly running Big League Burger’s massive Twitter account.
Enter Jack, class clown and constant thorn in Pepper’s side. When he isn’t trying to duck out of his obscenely popular twin’s shadow, he’s busy working in his family’s deli. His relationship with the business that holds his future might be love/hate, but when Big League Burger steals his grandma’s iconic grilled cheese recipe, he’ll do whatever it takes to take them down, one tweet at a time. All’s fair in love and cheese ― that is, until Pepper and Jack’s spat turns into a viral Twitter war. Little do they know, while they’re publicly duking it out with snarky memes and retweet battles, they’re also falling for each other in real life ― on an anonymous chat app Jack built. As their relationship deepens and their online shenanigans escalate ― people on the internet are shipping them?? ― their battle gets more and more personal, until even these two rivals can’t ignore they were destined for the most unexpected, awkward, all-the-feels romance that neither of them expected.
Throw Like a Girl
When softball star Liv Rodinsky throws one ill-advised punch during the most important game of the year, she loses her scholarship to her fancy private school, her boyfriend, and her teammates all in one fell swoop. With no other options, Liv is forced to transfer to the nearest public school, Northland, where she’ll have to convince their coach she deserves a spot on the softball team, all while facing both her ex and the teammates of the girl she punched… Every. Single. Day. Enter Grey, the injured star quarterback with amazing hair and a foolproof plan: if Liv joins the football team as his temporary replacement, he’ll make sure she gets a spot on the softball team in the Spring. But it will take more than the perfect spiral for Liv to find acceptance in Northland’s halls, and behind that charming smile, Grey may not be so perfect after all.
Owlcrate and Book Outlet
So, I didn’t end up posting my OwlCrate unboxing just yet and I don’t want to spoil what the book is for anyone who hasn’t gotten theirs yet. So, just know I got the Owlcrate book this month.
Along with that, I also got a BookOutlet order. Click here to see my unboxing blog post.
But that’s it for this post! I don’t plan on getting anymore books this month and I don’t think I have anymore arcs that I would be getting. So that’s it! I hope.
Let me know if you want to buddy read any of these books!
Thanks so much for joining me and remember that retail therapy may help for the time being, but it’s not going to help in the long run. Find other ways to satiate your moods outside of spending money on unnecessary things. You can do it.
See you all soon! Bye!
