Books That Would Make Good Video Games | Top 5 Wednesday Rewind

Good morning everyone! I hope you’re doing swell! Today I’m going to be redoing an old challenge for T5W. This is from April of 2017!

My T5W Rewind series is having me go back to old T5W prompts from the year that I started blogging and redo them. Some of these I have done before and I ended up deleting them off my blog. If I have, I’ll share my previous answers. This week’s T5W I have not done before.

I’m going to stay away from manga because I feel like all of those could be video games.

Let’s do this.

While I haven’t read Children of Virtue and Vengeance yet, I think this series would make a wonderful game. Specifically a fantasy/adventure game. You’d be able to choose who to save and who to trust. It would be very interesting.

The. Possibilities. This would be an interesting strategy game. You’d be training to become a Scythe and the main conflict of the series would continue to happen and you’d have to work to stop it. But you’d have to be sly and use more than brute force. Ugh. I need this.

All I can think of is the most recent Jumanji movies. They’d start out the game giving you general ideas of the character. The role they play. Then you’d have to choose which to be in the game and deal with their struggles on top of trying to do what they do.

This would be a detective and strategy game. If you’ve read these books, you know how the strategy would come into play near the later bits of each book. But I think it would be so interesting to try to figure out each of these cases. And I mean, I’d love to spend the time with Thomas.

So, this one I’m thinking it’s like a kind of Sims type thing. You have your character and you have to volunteer for this Renaissance fair and create the character for that. Then balance taking care of your sister and niece while also finding a job for yourself and deciding if you’re going to stay or leave. It can continue after the end of this book with different challenges depending on what you ended up choosing.

But that’s going to be it for this one! I do hope you enjoyed and let me know if you’d play any of these games or what books you’d love to see as a game.

I hope you all are staying healthy and preoccupied during this mess of a time and I’ll see you all in the next one!
