Good morning everyone. I’m sure you’re a little bit confused right now as to who I am and where I came from. Most of you knew me as A Court of Books and Love.
Today, I’m going to get into the name change, why I did it and where I’m going from here. I’m also going to go over my very tentative June TBR. So let’s just get into it.
Make sure to leave a comment letting me know what you think of the new name and what you’re reading in June.
Okay, let’s start with the name change to get that out of the way.
Here’s the thing. I came up with A Court of Books and Love back when I was still obsessed with the A Court of Thorns and Roses series back in 2016/2017. This name is one that I’ve loved and grown with. It’s special to me.
That being said, I also think that it’s time for a change. The name isn’t what it used to be. I’m not what I used to be. I fell out of love with the series I based the name on and have since all but stopped reading the author. I DNFed one series and can’t seem to finish the most recent ACOTAR book. That alone says a lot.
But even besides that, I’m not who I was when I made that name. I’ve been thinking about changing it for a while now, but it hasn’t felt right. I was still in a middle ground of not being happy with who I am or what I’ve been putting out on these platforms. I haven’t been standing up for what I believe in or being myself.
That’s not to say that I’ve been lying or portraying a character on here and not being authentic, because if you’ve been reading anything I’ve been putting out, I feel I have been really authentic with you all. But I have been trying to be supportive of people and not prioritizing that and I should have been.
That being said, please make sure you all are still supporting the BLM movement. It’s still ongoing and hasn’t ended just because it’s not trending anymore. We are not going to let this end now. We need to keep fighting and keep supporting. Go to this link to find resources like places to donate, petitions to sign, and more. Make sure you’re shopping at black-owned businesses and you’re using your platform and voice.
The name I chose, Manda the Bibleo, is something that I kind of made as a joke, but then I fell in love with it. I’m a Leo. That’s my zodiac and it’s something I’m proud of. Astrology, in the sense of how it affects people, has been something that I’ve always been interested in. I just feel like it’s a better fit.
I hope you all like the new name! But let’s get into my very tentative TBR for June.
So, this is going to be combining my old TBR and the one I ended up changing when this month started. There are going to be a lot of books on this list, so I’m just going to separate them by eBooks, ARCs, audiobooks, and physical reads.
ARCs (Advanced Review Copies)/Review Copies
Alright! That’s really it for this one. I do hope you all love the name change and continue to join me as I read through these books.
Also, I started a new Discord. I plan on breaking it down a bit more than it is and it’s definitely not ready for other eyes, but I’m going to leave all of my links down below, including that one! So make sure you’re following me and join the Discord to chat about books!
Thank you all so much for joining me and I look forward to talking to you all in the next one. Keep donating. Keep signing. And keep fighting.
