Readathin Announcement | August 2020

Good morning everyone. I hope you’re all doing well. Today I’m going to be sharing with you all the information you should need for this upcoming round of Readathin.

If you don’t know what Readathin is, it’s a readathon that I started a few years ago and now am running alongside Donna from MomsBookCollection. The goal is to read books from your shelves and “thin” out your TBR piles. We’re both really excited about this upcoming round and I can’t wait to share with you all the challenges.

Let’s get right into the information and make sure you comment below if you plan on joining!

So, to start things out, let’s talk about when Readathin is happening.

Readathin is a month long readathon that will, obviously, be happening again in the month of August. So it will start on August 1st, midnight your time, and end at midnight on September 1st.

There will be reading sprints held both on Twitter and Instagram. So make sure you’re following both of those platforms to keep up with the sprints.

I may also hold a 24 hour during this readathon, but I will give more information for that on Instagram since I haven’t planned it out yet. I’m personally going to be returning to work for a short time during August so I will have to figure it out around that.

For all things Readathin related like TBRs, Reading Vlogs, Wrap Ups, or anything else really, make sure you’re using the hashtag #ReadathinAug20 so that we can see them!

Now, let’s get into the challenges.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments or send a DM on either Instagram or Twitter. We’ll get back to you as soon as either of us can.

As always, we are doing a monthly photo challenge on Instagram. There are prompts for every day and you will use the hashtag #ReadathinPhotoAug20 so that we can find the photos! I hope you all can join us, but don’t feel like you’re obligated to.

As for the reading challenge, there are 5 of them.

And this goes for both sets of challenges (the photo and the reading), you don’t have to do any of these challenges. You don’t have to do all of them. Do what you want to, as long as you’re reading books from your shelves and thinning down that TBR, you’re participating.

I shared my TBR for these challenges specifically in my announcement video that was at the beginning of this post. Those are not the only books that I plan on reading, but I wanted to give you all an idea of what books you could possibly read for them.

Please let us know if you’re going to be joining and if you have any questions. I think that covers everything and I do hope that you can join in.

Thank you all so much for joining me in this announcement and I’ll see you all very soon.
