Good morning everyone! I hope you’re doing well! Today I’m just going to be showing some screenshots and discussing a bit how I decorated Merengue’s yard in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
In AC, I have set up all of my villagers’ houses in a way that gives them each a bit of space for a yard. I then decorated each space to fit the villager and their house. My most recent move in was Merengue.
I’ve run into Merengue on almost every single villager hunt I’ve been on. So I figured since I wasn’t really hunting for anyone specific this time around, I would finally take her home. So here we are.
But that means that I needed to redecorate the yard to fit her rather than Amelia. So, today I’m going to bring you through that process.
Let’s get started.
To start things off, I obviously needed a blank slate. So I cleared out the entire yard and am starting from just a dirt base.
I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to do with this area just yet, so I decided to look up some inspiration.
I pretty sure these are both the same yard, but I really liked the idea of a kind of bakery. So I decided to get started. I collected the items I thought I would need and made my way back over to Merengue’s yard.
And then, because the dirt floor just wouldn’t cut it. I decided to change up the flooring that I was using. I’m not sure exactly where I found thing flooring but if you search for “Oreo Diner” at the kiosk in the Able Sister’s you should be able to find it.
And then I started laying the items and moving them around to see how I liked them in different ways.
In the end, I ended up with this for now. I plan on searching for some more items and swtiching some things around, but for now, this is it. I am changing the espresso maker, the soft serve lamp, and the table situation. And maybe the sign. I was going for a kind of pink diner/bakery look and I think it turned out decent for what I had.
And just for fun, here are a few of my favorite yards.
Now my question for you all today is should I make the fencing different for each house? I like the simple fencing, but I’m not sure if I should change it up with each house or if I like them all being uniform.
And that’s going to be it for today! I’m honestly surprised I’m getting this up in time since I didn’t start working on it until after 7am and I got this up at 8am. But anyway.
Thank you all so much for joining me. I hope you enjoyed and I’ll see you all very soon.
