What’s Been Going on With Me

Good morning everyone. I hope you’re all doing well. I said in a post a few days ago that I was going to talk about what’s been going on with me. So here I am doing that.

Let’s keep this intro really short and sweet and just get right into it.

If you haven’t noticed, I kind of fell off posting again. And I feel like I’m always apologizing for that. Just know that I am trying. I just can’t seem to figure out how to make sure I get everything done. But I am trying different things and trying to figure out how I can manage to do the things I want to do.

That being said, I think I found out a huge issue I’ve been having.

And that thing is sleep.

I am a horrid sleeper. It seems like I spend most of the night trying to fall asleep and then I sleep in until my son wakes up at 10-10:30. And then I’m just feeling groggy and don’t want to wake up.

Sleep is such an important thing and along with food is the base for how you’re feeling. If you’re not sleeping and eating properly, there’s no way you’re going to be able to function properly.

So that’s the thing I need to work on first. I would love to be a morning person but I just can’t seem to figure out how to become one. this week I’m going to be trying out so many different things to try to see what can help. That means that I need to make sure I have my days put together.

It’s currently Sunday and I’ve planned today to be a busy day. I normally use Sunday for relaxing. But I’m going to spend a lot of today cleaning and getting work done so that I can be ahead of stuff and not have to worry if I don’t get something done the day before it’s meant to go live.

Here is a general idea of the things I want to stick to doing to make sure that I’m able to fall asleep when I’m supposed to be:

No electronics after 7pm

I want to make sure my son is in bed by 8pm and in turn, me in bed around 8pm. So the first thing I want to make sure I’m doing is stopping electronics at 7pm. I will be turning off my computer, no gaming, no phone. I will be focusing on relaxing and prepping for bed.

No eating after 6pm

This one is going to be probably the hardest thing for me. I am constantly eating before bed. And I know that’s something that is leading to me not being able to fall asleep. So I will be having dinner around 5:30 or so and then I’ll be done eating. I may have a cup of tea before bed, but no food.

Prep for the next day before I go to bed

This is another one that’s going to be a trial and error kind of thing for me. I tend to enjoy writing my to do lists in the morning, but I know that’s also something I tend to spend WAY too long on. I’ll just spend as much time as I can working on writing my do to lists rather than working on them.

So I’ll write that before I go to bed and get anything I’ll need for the next day ready like food or even just getting my coffee ready to be made.

I didn’t want this post to be 10 million light years long, so I’m going to end it here. I hope you enjoyed this post and comment with any tips that you may have to help me get on a decent sleep schedule.

I hope you’re all doing very well and it continues throughout this week. Remember to drink your water and take a break when you need it. You got this and will achieve whatever it is you’re working toward this week. See you all very soon.

  1. Have you ever tried taking something to help you sleep. My husband takes Melatonin which is an over the counter sleep aid. He can’t sleep without it. I’m very sensitive to meds so while it does help me sleep in makes me feel drowsy in the morning but he doesn’t have that issue.
