Good afternoon everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Today I’m going to need YOUR help for my reading goals for 2021.
I mentioned in a post a while ago that I was going to be asking for help from you all and this is it.
So let’s get right into it. This will be a super quick post, but I need the help from you all.
So, like I said in my 2021 Goals Already?! post, I am planning on doing some sort of game to plan out my TBRs. This is going to be a whole thing for me. So, here’s the general idea that I currently have:
The idea right now is to have a bingo board with different challenges in each of the different spaces. I will be working toward getting a bingo and each time I get a bingo, I will change out the challenges that I completed.
Step One: Roll for 4-5 challenges
I will start out the year by rolling to get 4-5 challenges. I haven’t decided how many to do. And with those challenges, I’ll choose books that would fit into those challenges.
Step Two: Read the Books in order of Challenges
So, this is the one that’s kind of going to be tough. But since I’m going to be doing challenges for this rather than books, I can always switch out the books that I want to read if I’m not feeling in the mood for a certain one.
Say I choose one book for a specific challenge, but I’m just not enjoying it, then I can always change the book that I am reading as long as the new book fits into the challenge.
Step Three: Wrap Up
After reading the 4-5 books for the challenges, I will be posting a wrap up for those 4-5 and choosing 4-5 more challenges at the end of that video.
While I do think this could be a bit limiting, I’m not going to limit myself to just reading the books for the challenges. I’m going to put a heavier focus on those books, but if I am in the mood for a book that may not fit into a challenge, I’m not going to stop myself from reading it. I’ll include those books in the wrap up as well.
I want to kind of give myself a prize every time I get a bingo, so if you have any recommendations for the prizes, let me know!
Now! Into What You Need To Do For Me
So, I have a few challenge ideas, but I really want you all do help me out with this. What I’m asking of you all is to comment or private message me with some challenge recommendations. Some of these challenges may be reused and each time I do one of your challenges, I will shout you out. So make sure that you’re leaving what you want me to shoutout in your comment as well (Instagram, Blog, etc).
I do ask that you keep the shoutouts to bookish-content though. You can still recommend challenges if you don’t want a shoutout, just mention that in the comments/message.
You can recommend anything from a book with a specific colored cover to an oddly specific challenge. As long as it’s something that multiple books can be chosen for (as in, not a “read a specific book” type challenge), then it works!
And that’s really all I have to say in today’s post. I really just need your help coming up with challenges so I have enough throughout the year to switch them out as needed.
Thank you all so much for your help in advance and I can’t wait to see the challenges you all come up with!
Other than that, I’ll see you all very soon in the next post!

As a prize to yourself you can always buy yourself another book.
As for some challenges:
Mood read
Book under 200 pages
Read a tome 500+pages
Let your son pick a book for you
Random number generator
A book with (color) on the cover you can do every color for this one.

Use the wheel of names to choose which book to read.
Read a book with a question in the title
A book with a day of the week in the title (Monday, Tuesday, etc)
A book with a number in the title
A book gifted to you
A book written by an author duo
A re-read of one of your favorite books
I think that is all!!! i might have more haha

Thanks so much for recommending some! I may use some from Readathin as well đ I have so many different ideas. I never would have thought about a question in the title!!!

This sounds fun! I hope you enjoy the challenges. đ I don’t know if you like the same kinds of prizes I do, but new stationary or pens is the first prize option I thought of.
Challenge ideas:
Pick a book from your shelf with your eyes closed (I think this was a POPSUGAR prompt this year, and I thought it was neat)
A book by your favorite author
A book by a debut author
A book set in a city you want to visit (or set in a place you have already been)
A book in a genre you don’t normally read

That’s a really good gift idea! I think I’ll make a prize wishlist and whenever I complete a bingo, I’ll let myself get something from there! And thanks so much for the challenge ideas!

I’m so excited to get started. I just need to get a few things for it still and then I want to test out a run of it to make sure it’s able to be done (I don’t see why it wouldn’t work but I just want to make sure) and then I’ll be ready for 2021!
